If it is possible to be overly effusive and still fall short of exclaiming the virtues of an album, let this be that moment. No River City combine a Gram Parsons & Flying Burrito Brothers honky tonk sound, simple and interesting story telling and excellent musicianship. This album has the feel of southern California country rock from the early `70s without smelling musty. Drew de Man might be the best musician that no one has yet heard of, every bit the equal to Ryan Adams. Is that effusive enough? This album is great. -- Jeff Weiss, Miles of Music (self-released)
