The Morning Line capture the raspy mournful vibe of Elliott Smith combined with a three-chord jangly pop. Veterans Stephen Smith (Salem 66, Green Magnet School), David Shollenbarger (Agent Orange, Blood On The Saddle), David Knupp (Joe Buck), and Marco Baroz (Joe Buck) use their experience (and age) to echo the mid-80s sound of REM and American Music Club (sans moroseness). This hook-filled album nicely mixes up rockers and introspective tunes. They don`t mess around, trying to sound hip and new.
