In the world of micro music genres, Kamikaze Hearts fall into the generic sounding category of Indie Folk. This band from upstate New York, though, have created something significantly more complicated and interesting. Take multi-part harmonies that remind of the way Crosby, Stills & Nash meshed their individually interesting voices into something greater. But Kamikaze`s Heart`s harmonies, while gorgeous, come out much more somber. Take REM, circa Fables of the Reconstruction, and make them acoustic. There is a weathered feeling to these tales of commonplace existence. Kamikaze Hearts have made one of those very rare records that grows more intriguing with every spin. -- Jeff Weiss.
