From pain and loss comes motivation and inspiration. The passing of a long-time friend of Dave Harding, Richmond Fontaine`s bass player, provided the impetus for this record. Several of the songs were written for his late friend Todd Scherer, while several on this album are tracks Harding composed with his friend.The rough-hewn sound of Harding`s vocals brings forth the feeling of what it must have sounded like back in the garage when the two old friends were first working out the idea of being in a band. Without the back story, the album might fall flat.
