The Denmark Veseys is a Portland, Oregon, based duo consisting of acclaimed singer/songwriter Jerry Joseph (Little Women, The Jackmormons, Stockholm Syndrome) and drummer/percussionist Steve Drizos. A slight departure from Josephs past projects, The Denmark Veseys self-titled debut introduces a new pop sensibility while still retaining the raw energy that has defined his career. The album, recorded in Athens, GA and produced by Dave Barbe (Drive-By Truckers, REM, Son Volt), was created in a live performance atmosphere. The Denmark Veseys completed the record in just six days, capturing a true representation of the bands sound. A sound that lies somewhere between Sly & The Family Stones `Family Affair` and Peter Gabriels `I Cant Remember` with a big tip of the hat to the late, great Chris Whitley.
