Borrowing from the title of his praise-worthy debut, this "Bedroom Rockstar" has overcome his agoraphobia and taken his songs beyond the front stoop. The self-produced Unfortunate Son was recorded in no less than 7 locations with the assistance of notable engineers and players such as Michael Koppelman, Steve Sadler, David Rizzuti, Neilson Hubbard and Pete Weiss. Mayone`s credits are noteworthy as well, having worked with the likes of Kris Delmhorst, Jess Klein, Levon Helm, and Jimmy Ryan. But it`s his talent as a singer and songwriter that`s to be noted here. Simply put, Mayone ties up all of Americana, folk, classic and roots-rock, effortlessly flowing from one to the next and never at a loss for interest. The opening track "Beautiful And Dangerous" come from the Michael Penn school of pop rock. But equally intriguing is the dreamy and epic acoustic tune "Iowa", which follows. "You Can`t Look Inside Of Me" sounds like it was written with a bit of J. J. Cale and Mark Knopfler in mind.
