Shotgun Shack are Brooklyn`s "Honky-Tonk Hotshots" whose members have been in or worked with artists such as Blood Oranges, Hem, Tandy, Ryan Adams and Amy Allison, among others. Led by the baritone voiced Andrew Shack, this New York quintet hit the genre`s classic themes with hints of humor and above average cleverness. The band`s debut EP displays elements of Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and David Allan Coe. In fact, within the first 15 seconds of their opening title track, "My Guitar Is My Memory", they name drop Dale Watson, with whom they might be easily compared. The five tracks here were produced, recorded and mixed by Hem guitarist Gary Maurer and have all the rumble and punch required to boogie. Track Listing: My Guitar Is My Memory/Early To Everything Bad/Welcome Back To The Nest/Whisperin` Will Do/ All I Will Ever Bet On (self-released)
