With simplicity and grace, clarity and reverence Sara Pace possess a dreamy tone that is touched with an air of twang. The 9 tracks that fill her sophomore release go beyond pleasant as she blends mountain folk with cosmopolitan flair, and cafe songstress musings with Texas troubadour songcraft. Crisp and spacious arrangements allow for the sound of a dropped pin, which, if heard, would surely give the impression of a sparkling chime upon Pace`s crystalline vocal tone. Although mostly introspective originals, her freewheelin`, folk-country version of Dylan`s "Mama, You Been On My Mind", livens things up some as she jovially spins its perspective and meaning into something more of a nostalgia piece. There is plenty of pedal-steel here which breezes through many of the tracks like gentle winds filling a small boat`s sail on a gentle lake. The addition of strings and light backing further the mood which can be as delicate as the slow breath of sleep or as perky as bluegrass, as heard in the well-harmonied track "Whiskey". - Robinson, Miles Of Music (self-released)
