Description:
Live At Town Hall is an album from the kings of maudlin Americana, The Eels. Combining whimsy and harsh reality in equal measure, Mark Oliver Everett ("E") and his band have been connecting with and engaging audiences all over the world with their stunning live show. E has notoriously presented he group with an unpredictable, ever-changing back line of musicians. This time around his 7-piece band finds four of its number in a string quartet; two violins, a viola and a cello. Two multi-instrumentalists juggling lap steel, guitar, upright bass, mandolin, musical saw, melodica, celeste, pump organ, piano, a trash can and a suitcase percussion set cover whatever E can`t urge from his own guitar. The CD version of Live At Town Hall includes four songs from the evening`s performance that are not included in the concert film DVD.
