Using the country rock foundations of their previous effort, Tinderbox Tragedy, as a springboard, Missouri rockers The Doxies find themselves tossed about by strange winds while in their mid-air descent. In the wake of such a trip, the bands new-found paradigm sets them off on a whimsical, lo-fi musical course that incorporates 80s Euro-pop and college rock charm with other exploratory yearnings. Reshaping classic sounds on vintage gear, the band takes their fans on a pleasant trip toward what has been described as an unclear direction. To the newcomer, they open a rift in time and space when college radio was the only true form of alternative, and have a pretty good time doing it. (self-released)
