This 2008 record captures Laurie Lewis and The Right Hands (Tom Rozum, Scott Huffman, Craig Smith, Todd Phillips) magically weaving bluegrass, country and folk into a highly entertaining live performance. Recorded in the Pacific Northwest over three days in 2007, Lewis and her accomplished bandmates mix originals in with songs written by Kate MacLeod, Jimmy Martin, Billy Joe Shaver, and Irving Berlin amongst others. The format of a live album, that is, in front of an audience, benefits Lewis because of the way she shares the music with the listener. Her themes are universal giving those participating a chance to hear a little of themselves in every song. Lewis and The Right Hands are extremely accomplished players and entertainers. This album is good for the soul. -- Jeff Weiss, Miles of Music (Spruce and Maple Music)
