Description:
The Tennessee Boltsmokers found the inspiration for Hydroradio while touring through the Northeastern United States region in and around the Pocono Mountains. Songwriter Mark McKinney (Pawtuckets) was inspired by music that was being broadcast from an area radio station deep in the mountains; the first hydro-powered radio station in the United States. That music, combined with the experience of extensive travel to play country barns and underground indie-rock clubs from coast to coast, helped shape the lyrics and music on Hydroradio. Accompanied once again by Eric Lewis and Andy Ratliff - as well as Memphis Mainstay Lonesome Craig Yarbrough - the tunes here stay rooted in a cross-section of musical styles which always seem to collide and mix together, defining the Memphis sound.
